Barndiva
One of my favorite spots in Sonoma County, Barndiva in Healdsburg. Great wine, food and setting..
Ryan Fancher is our chef de cuisine. He worked with Thomas Keller for three years at the French Laundry before moving to NYC as part of the opening team for Per Se. For the past few years he has been earning great props in his own right working for several distinguished restaurants in Napa County.

Outstanding in the Field
We were thrilled to have our 4th "Outstanding in the Field" farm to table dinner at Hudson Ranch & Vineyards in Napa this year. The guest chefs were Curtis Di Fede & Tyler Rodde form Oenotri in Napa and the wine and all of the produce was from the Hudson Ranch. Can't say enough about the event! Check it out at outstandinginthefield.com.
Lee Hudson and Hudson Vineyards have a tradition for growing some of the best grapes and making wine in the Napa Valley, today they continue that tradition with the ranch. Hudson Ranch is known for it's high quality estate grown produce, poultry and pork. Hudson Ranch's product reaches people both through a popular local CSA program and distribution to select restaurants around the Bay Area. Our guest chefs Curtis Di Fede and Tyler Rodde grew up in the Napa Valley. At our table set on the ranch our local chefs will take full advantage of all that is available at Hudson Ranch.

Carly and Tommy
New Additions to the Brown family. Carly and Tommy are twin Jacob Sheep born May 31, 2011.
The Jacob sheep is a rare breed of small, piebald (black and white spotted), polycerate (multi-horned) sheep. Jacobs may have as many as six horns, although four horns is most common. Jacobs are usually raised for their wool, meat, and hides. They are kept as pets and ornamental animals, and have been used as guard animals to protect farm property from theft or vandalism and to defend other livestock against predators.
Among the many accounts of ancient breeds of piebald sheep is the story of Jacob from the first book of the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament. According to the Book of Genesis (Genesis 30:31–43), in what may be the earliest recorded attempt at selective breeding, Jacob took every speckled and spotted sheep from his father-in-law's (Laban's) flock and bred them. The Jacob is indeed named for the Biblical figure of Jacob. The resulting breed may have accompanied the westward expansion of human civilization through Northern Africa, Sicily, Spain and eventually England.

Sunrise - Hollywood, FL
Crepuscular rays (pronounced /krɪˈpʌskjələr/, also known as God Rays), in atmospheric optics, are rays of sunlight that appear to radiate from a single point in the sky. These rays, which stream through gaps in clouds or between other objects, are columns of sunlit air separated by darker cloud-shadowed regions. The name comes from their frequent occurrences during crepuscular hours (those around dawn and dusk), when the contrasts between light and dark are the most obvious.
